Within its commitment to support SMEs and female entrepreneurs, BLC Bank launched the Women in Business Program, a toolkit for women in business – women establishing, growing and formalizing their business, providing them with all the needed information and strategies to reach their goals. The first session of this program was done in collaboration with VIDES, an Italian NGO working on the economic empowerment of women, at the Don Bosco Cultural Center in Kahale and was concluded with a certificates ceremony on Thursday 12 September 2019 rewarding all attendees for accomplishing this intensive capacity-building program. CEO Mr. Bassam Hassan represented BLC Bank at the ceremony delivering a supporting statement to all SMEs along with other key speakers such as Mr. Jean Bejjani, Mayor of Kahale and HE. Nada Boustani, Minister of Energy and Water.
The Women in Business Program is a new Non-Financial Service provided by BLC Bank and We Initiative as part of a comprehensive 360° business solution, providing tools, resources and opportunities to improve businesses, expand capacities, and nurture growth. It targets mainly women in business, women who have their own business and are looking to expand, women working from home with hobby or a talent and looking to turn it to a formal business, women who have the business idea and need the basics and fundamentals to turn this idea into a working and growing business.
It is a 7 course training provided by experts from BLC Bank as well as from the eco-system, covering topics such as Business Plan, IP Protection, Marketing for Business, Accounting, Finance, Taxation and the importance of a Bank partnership.
Following this first round, the Women in Business Program will travel across Lebanon to reach more women entrepreneurs and SMEs to help them establish and grow their businesses.
